FONSpotがFONのCEOマーティン氏のBlogで公開されました。されたのはいいのですが、メニューなどがすべてスペイン語なので英語に翻訳してみました。

さきほどのBCNランキングからのニュースで、FONが無線LANルータでシェア1位になったそうです。おめでとうございます！

個人所有のアクセスポイントを、世界中のユーザー同士で共用しようという相互利用型の無線LANサービス「FON」が浸透しつつある。サービスを利用するのに必要な専用の無線LANルーター「LaFonera」が、4月第2週の「BCNランキング」無線LANカテゴリーで販売台数シェア1位を獲得したからだ。

あまりにも安すぎて敬遠されるのかと思っていましたが、素直に受け入れられたようですね。この調子で行けば、今年中に7万5000のFONのアクセスポイントも行けそうですね。後はしっかりサポートをしていくことでしょうね＾＾
ユーザー同士のサポートも盛んになり、持ちつ持たれつの関係でどんどん広がっていくことを期待してます！

4月23日、FONが米国大手ISPのタイムワーナーケーブルとの提携を発表いたしました。
メディアエンタテインメントカンパニーとしても世界最大級のTime Warner Inc.のグループ会社であるタイムワーナーケーブルとの提携はFONにとって非常に誇らしいことであり嬉しく思っております。
当パートナーシップにより、約660万人のタイムワーナー・ブロードバンド契約者がFONアクセスポイントを設置し、世界中のFONスポットでローミングが可能となりました！
現在、FONは米国内だけでも6万人の会員数で米国最大級のWiFiネットワークを保持しております。

FONはアメリカのタイムワーナーケーブル(TWC)と提携というビックニュース。TWCの660万という膨大な会員に対して、FONを配って世界1位を狙う。これを受けてFONJapanもISPとの衝撃的な進展を望む。

350,000 citizens of London have wireless internet access as of today thru what The Cloud calls Europe's most advanced Wifi network. 127 nodes accomplish a 95% coverage which can be used for free for the first month (well, for the rest of April that is). As of May The Cloud charges 2.99 pound ($6) for half an hour or 11.99 ($24) per month.

　イギリスではTheCloudという会社が、ロンドンの35万人に対してWiFiサービス(期間限定無料)を始めるそうです。ニュースリリースはこちら。イギリスといえば、FONの支社もあると思うのですが・・・前向きにこれからのコラボを期待したいですね。ライブドアワイアレスっぽいのかな。でもサポータは結構豪華ですね。

reflector for FON

Hi! How do u do! I'm Japanese Fonera,live in Tokyo,Japan. I bought LaFonera 12.2006 in Japan.Now I join to FON user community in Japan.
So, last week. I made a easy reflector of FON. It makes so easy and you might be spend 30min.
